Co-governance 2.0: Mount Taranaki granted human rights

The dormant volcano will now be represented by a panel of eight, including four traditional owners and four Crown representatives.

For the first time since April 2023, Labour has edged ahead of National in the latest Taxpayer’s Union-Curia poll, with Labour rising to 30.9% (+4 points) and National slipping to 29.6% (-4.6 points).

A recent study by Victoria University of Wellington and Massey University reveals a form of elder abuse known as “cold violence” prevalent in New Zealand’s Chinese community.

A form of emotional abuse, cold violence includes wilful neglect, refusal to engage and nonverbal disdain.

While not physical, it has devastating effects on the mental health and independence of older Chinese migrants.
